Western Headstalls For Large Horses

The Dream, by Swami Sivananda

Svapna means the state of dreaming sleep, in which man enjoys the five objects of senses and in which all the physical senses are at rest and only the mind is active. The mind is itself the subject and object. It creates all dream images.

Al Jiva (individual soul) is called Taijasa when in this state. It exists Antah-Prajna (internal consciousness). The scriptures say: "No cars when one sleeps, no horses, no roads, but it creates a cars, horses and roads. "

The dream world is separate from the world of the waking state. The person who is sleeping on a comfortable bed in Calcutta, completely healthy at the time of going to bed, wanders in a dream through the streets of Delhi like a sick man and vice versa.

The deep sleep state is separated from the other two worlds of dreams and the waking state. For the dreamer, the dream world and its objects are as real as the objects and experiences you have in the real world.

A person dreaming is not aware of the lack of reality of the world dreams, are not aware of the existence of the world is waking to sleep separately. The level of consciousness change and this change of consciousness produces the experience of dreaming, or else awake. The objects themselves do not change, only change within the mind is the mind itself which represents different roles during sleep and wakefulness.

The dreamer feels that dreams are real while they last, however incoherent or absurd they may be, until sometimes dream that you have cut your head or you're flying through the air.

The dreamer believes in the reality of the dream, and in the different experiences you have during that state. Only when he wakes up from sleep, know or realize what he had experienced was a fake, a mere dream or illusion. The case of the Jiva in the waking world is analogous to the previous. The ignorant Jiva imagines that the phenomenal world (waking), with its sensual pleasures is real. But when you wake up to the true reality of things, when you change your point of view, when the screen of Avidya (ignorance) is removed, then realizes that this waking world also is unreal like the dream world .

During sleep a poor person becomes a powerful and wealthy, enjoy all kinds of pleasures, marries a Maharani, lives in a magnificent palace and has several children. House to his eldest daughter to the son of a Maha-Raja, travels the continent with his wife and children, then come back and visit various places of pilgrimage and finally dies of pneumonia at Benares. In just five minutes, has all these experiences. What a wonder!

As during sleep, wakefulness also objects seen are unsubstantial, though the two states differ because the first objects are internal and subtle, while the second is external, gross and durable .

The sage considers the state of wakefulness and sleep are the one, as a result of the similarity of objective experience obtained in both cases. Just as the sages say that dreams and illusions are sand castles, the Vedanta declares that this universe is too.

Dreams represent the contraries. A king who has food in abundance, dreams he is on the streets begging for food. A disciple chaste and pure dreams that he is suffering from a venereal disease. A chivalrous soldier dreams that runs away from the battlefield for fear of the enemy. A weak and sickly man dreams that he is dead. He also dreams that his father, who is Live, dead and cries at night. He also experiences attending the cremation of his father. In other cases, a man who lives in the city dreams that he meets a tiger and a lion and shrieks in the night deposit. Grab your pillow thinking it's his trunk of luggage and heads to the train station. After walking a short distance realizes it was a dream and goes home. Some people dream they are sitting on the toilet and actually wet their beds.

As soon as you wake up, the dream becomes unreal. Wakefulness to sleep there. And both wakefulness and sleep, no are present in deep sleep. The deep sleep state is not present or in sleep or wakefulness. Therefore, the three states are unreal and are caused by the three constituent qualities of nature: Sattva, Rajas and Tamas.

Brahman or the Absolute is the silent witness of the three states. Brahman also transcends the three qualities listed above, your essential nature is pure bliss and pure consciousness is Existence Absolute.

Dream Analysis Brief

The analysis of dreams and their causes , conducted by psychoanalysts, is defective. They argue that the cause that creates the dreams lies in the suppressed desires of the individual dreamer. If this were so, how dreams could be created at will by suppressing desires? No, you can not do that.

They also say that desires stimulate or help the creation of dreams, but do not know what provides the material from which dreams are built, or what makes the individual concrete expressions, enabling the dreamer see his own repressed desires, dream materialized in expressions that appear before them as if they were real.

Desires only provide the impetus and the mind creates the dream from materials provided by experiences occurring during wakefulness. The creatures of the dreams come from the substrate of Samskaras or impressions of the subconscious mind and poor digestion.

Taijasa is the dreamer. It is the personality of the waking state, which creates the personality in the dream state . The personality of the dream state exists as the subject of personality wakefulness and real in so far as it is the latter. The waking and dreaming do not exist independently each own as real entities. Why do we dream?

There have been many answers to this question.

dreams are but a reflection of our waking experience in a new way.

The medical view is that dreams are due to some disturbance or organic disorders of the body, but especially in the stomach area.

sometimes see in dreams the signs of emerging diseases.

For Sigmund Freud all dreams, without exception are wish fulfillment. Freud argues that the mere physical stimulus is not responsible for the production of dreams, that the mechanism is very complex dreams and desires are immoral nature, which rebel against the moral self, which exercises control about their appearance.

So appear disguised desires to escape from the internal censor of morals. Very few dreams present the wishes as they really are.

Dreams are perks Partial desires, relieving mental stress and so allow us to enjoy rest. Dreams are safety valves against the strong impulses (drives).

will meet your self-animal (lower self, the seat of the instincts) in the dream. However, objects that occur during the dream state are often similar in many respects to those which one perceives during his waking state. During the dream state you talk to family members and friends, eat the same food, includes rivers, mountains, cars, gardens, streets, oceans, temples, works in the office to answer questions an examination in the classroom and fight and quarrel with some people. This shows that when the man falls asleep does not leave the consequences of his past relationship with the objects in the waking state.

A person who experiences the three states of consciousness, ie Jagrat or waking state, Svapna asleep or dreaming state (sleep), and Sushupti or deep sleep state (not dream), is called Visva in the waking state, Taijasa in dreaming state and Prajna in deep sleep state.

When you get up after sleeping is Visva who recalls the experience of Prajna in deep sleep and says, "I slept deeply. I do not remember anything. " Since the memory of the enjoyment or experiences during the deep sleep state is not possible.

Reactions vary dreams mental fitness, temperament and diet of the individual.

All dreams are a matter of few seconds. For ten seconds, you can experience dreams in which various events happen, as several years of life. Some remember dreams occasionally, while others to experience daily. But no one can sleep without dreams, whether that stir memories or not.

The sun is the source and the temporary resting place of its rays. The rays are emitted from the sun and spread in all directions at the time of sunrise. At sunset, they enter into the sun and collected there and then to appear again the following morning. Similarly, the waking and dreaming are visible from the source, the state of deep sleep, and then get back into it, they disappear and are set to return there again to take its course.

Anything that appears in the world of dreams is the copy or image of the world of the waking state. It is not just copying the objects to be seen, experienced, or who have been treated in the present life, but can be a copy of other objects seen, experienced, or who have been treated in any life Previous to this world. Therefore, we can not say that the dream world is independent of the world of the waking state.

objects seen in the waking state, are always outside the body, are therefore outside the subject that dreams, while the world of dreams is the dreamer is always internal. That is the only difference between them.

During the dream state, the whole world disappears into the waking dream state, therefore, can not find the distinguishing features that could help the dreamer to distinguish the real world from another world of dreams.

Some Western scientists and philosophers drew their conclusions based on observations of their experiences of the waking state. While researchers Vedantins use their experiences of the three states, namely waking, sleeping, dreaming and deep sleep and then get their conclusions. Therefore, These latest findings are the most true, correct, perfect, complete and comprehensive, while other researchers are partial and biased.

Some types of external sounds, such as a bell, ringing the alarm, a knock on the door or wall, the blowing of the wind, the patter of rain, the rustle of leaves , the beep of a horn of a car, the crack of a window, etc, can produce in the mind of the dreamer a variety of fantasies and dream images. These sounds produce sensations that increase with the power of imagination of the dreamer and the sensitivity of his mind, causing dreams and very sophisticated.

If you touch the chest of that is dreaming about the head of a pin, can I dream then that someone has given a strong blow to his body or stabbed him with a dagger.

The individual soul does not know you're dreaming during the dream state and is not aware of itself, since it is limited by the Gunas of Prakriti. So watch passively the creations of his mind and dreams, pass before him as a result of the effects of subconscious impressions (Samskaras) of your waking state.

It is possible for a person who dreams, to remain conscious during the dream state, the fact that you are dreaming Learn to witness your own thoughts during the waking state! Then you realize during the dream state that you are dreaming. So you can change, stop or create whatever your own thoughts in the dream state. You'll be able to stay alert and aware during the dream state.

If thoughts during the waking state are controlled then you can also control the thoughts in dreams.

Sometimes dreams are very interesting and become true facts. Can predict future events. For example, a man who dreamed of living in Haridwar on January 1, 1947 that he would go to Benares on the night of January 3. And that actually happened. In another case, an army officer dreams that will go to Allahabad. The next morning received the order to the new destination. Another man dreams that he will find a car accident on Saturday. And it was so.

can find flashes of profound wisdom through reflection on dreams. No is truly known himself if he has not studied his dreams. The study of dreams shows how mysterious is our soul. Dreams reveal that aspect of our nature which transcends rational knowledge. Every dream has a meaning. A dream is like a letter written in an unknown language.

Many puzzles of life are solved through clues left in dreams. Dreams indicate which way goes the spiritual life of a person. That way you can get proper advice for self-correction (improvement) through personal dreams. One may know how to act in a particular situation through dreams. The dreams show a path unknown to waking consciousness. Sometimes, sages and saints appear in dreams during times of trouble, and point the way forward.

the Vedantins very deep and carefully study the states of sleep and sleep and show the logic that the waking state is as unreal as the state of dreaming sleep. They claim that the only difference between the two states is that the waking state is a long sleep, Deergha Svapna.

While sleeping person is dreaming, the dream objects are real. When he awakens, the dream world then becomes false. When one attains enlightenment or knowledge of Brahman, the world perceived in the waking state becomes as unreal as the dream world.

The real truth is that nobody sleeps, dreams or wakes up, because there is no essential reality in these states.

transcend the three states and rest in the fourth state, Turiya , the state of eternal bliss of Brahman, Satchidananda Svaroopa .
