Underground Poetry Festival in Mexico 2010

BEGINS UNDERGROUND POETRY FESTIVAL IN MEXICO CITY

the motto aloud Dream was launched on Wednesday 14 July, the second Underground Poetry Festival in Mexico City.

Organized by young Mexican poets: Yaxkin Melchy, Gerardo Grande, Thalia Garcia, Victor Manuel Ibarra and J. Jiménez. The festival also features the presence of some of the most outstanding novice authors from countries such as Guatemala, Chile, El Salvador and Peru.

reading is diverse, ranging from thoughtful readings as an intervention in public places like the sculptural space, UNAM and Plaza de las Tres Culturas in Tlatelolco, and alternative spaces and officers. As one of the organizers: "All this in order to revisit that poetry is being generated from a free space, without fear, with a political view of art of a new generation, but it is not poetry fighter but a real struggle for poetry and its most incendiary language, mind-boggling, to this end, we both official spaces such as The house of the poet Ramón López Velarde and José Martí Cultural Centre as well as pulque, or legendary scenes the Multiforo Alice which has received both rock musicians and the poets of the infrarrealists rock'n'roll "said Yaxkin, one of the organizers.

The inaugural festival took place in pulquería Blenders. A pulquería is a tavern, much like the chicha Fierro street in Cuzco, which dispenses a traditional drink called "pulque." The pulque is one of the derivatives of the agave, like tequila and mezcal. And so, between pulques cured of oats and strawberry, and the voice of Luz Maria Prieto (Sunstone), I realize all because I have an eye on my hands, with which I touch you, to touch the books also and my legs and everything else began the festival. Luz María, Chilanga crazy, reminded me of Maria Emilia Cornejo, the bad girl of the story, with his hysteria and rebellion, with a tattoo in the form of ace of spades on his left wrist and a verse written on the strip of the Jean the ligth is a rose. And as he was pouring the pulque and poets were going, we listened to faunito Chilean, Agustin Hidalgo, whipping people with the chorus "He who does not jump is Pinochet." This first night will end with two separate hulls loggerhead and musical interpretation of fragments of Martin Adam "My first love was 12 and black nails ...", read by me and accompanied radiator noise by the group under the direction of the composer Jaime Lobato.

The second date, in the emblematic Multiforo Alice, named for Lewis Carroll's Alice, had the presence of a newcomer Manuel Tzoc, Guatemalan poet, who, having been denied a visa to Mexico, chose jugárselas the whole for the whole, illegal border crossing somewhere north of feverish jungle of Chiapas. From his blog
animal poem extract a fragment of the poem The sea drunk and I:

The sun at this hour of the afternoon is a great pad fire to the mouth of the sea.
swallows and effervescent. Calm the anxieties of its waves.

the Multiforo Alice illustrated by graffiti, where stands a large skull catrina holding a beer, also hosted performers such as Red Cordova, farmer of orature and hip hop, who through ironic and irreverent verses stacking the audience with phrases about national symbols and drug use in college.

To close this chapter, the beautiful Zindu Cano, played his theme colors, to the delight of the band. Then the night was ending, all the snap of my fingers can not stop dancing to the danzón the place, in the words of Jaime Lobato, who that night recited publicly for the first time.

The third round was held in the Plaza de Las Tres Culturas, Tlatelolco, attracting the eyes of themselves and others, who gathered around the monument to victims of violence, which by that stage later served us at her feet blankets unfolded Oaxaca, where we put our books and platelets . I attracted to poems that do not fit in the leaves of the issues that have to discard the impossible book to my heart in the words of poet Yaxkin Melchy.

The readings were carried out under the sky megaphone and defense, which after days of rain and to deny us the moon, we provided a light show that turned into a loom blue to be spun with the clouds. Part anecdotal

put the Skull, who at the voice of a Dadaist poem, jumped one of the fences from the ruins of Tenochtitlan, causing uproar among us and the police, who soon appeared, and then throw it, but not before the end of the poem.
The evening continued with the reading of the always smiling and Javier Norambuena Felipe Becerra, the latter have selected some verses of his poems "useful body" I see the Sunday

bother with the dog barking at the same rate that flicker

Sunday night so overwhelmed by the cold and lonely as

withered body would like to offer my

And so the evening was taking over the Plaza de las Tres Cultures, as some children flying their kites, or a lush skaters, and dogs barking at the moon at night, when the rites of the young are more pure. Diego Lazarte
